Cheap Laptops and More

I have an HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC with an AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz processor.
I want to upgrade my Processor speed to at least 3.00 GHz, what should I buy to upgrade my laptop to that speed and how would I go about installing it?

I plan to wipe the laptop and install Linux and Vista without all the dell software, so would dell hardware do well for light gaming, 3D graphics and word processing?
