I want to format my laptop and reinstall everything but I don’t have a Dell Product Recovery CD?

I'm using a Dell laptop.
Do I really need to have a Dell Product Recovery CD to set up the laptop, the Windows all over again or a Microsoft Windows XP installation CD is fine?
Dell Product Recovery CD didn't come with the laptop when I bought it.

For how much should I sell my Gateway laptop on eBay?

I have a Gateway laptop that I bought in 2006. It has Windows Vista Ultimate, 1GB of RAM, and about 80GB of storage. It in great condition. For how much should I sell it? If you need more details, tell me.
