Click on the "start" menu - then click on "turn off computer". I hope you are not serious.

You don’t need access to the welcome menu, you need access to the start menu. Might I suggest you sell the computer and start playing checkers?

From a brief overview of the two laptops, it appears identical. Both are 14" laptops, and both have approximately the same weight.

The main difference is the target market. The Inspiron is targeted more at the consumer market, and will include much more trial software.

The Inspiron 1420 offers a selection of different colors (you’ll be paying for it!), and includes starts off with the older/slower chips (667 MHz FSB) as opposed to the standard 800 MHz FSB of the Vostro.

The price is also a factor, as the Vostro is slightly cheaper at the moment.

The FSB speed aside, the laptops are about evenly matched. I would purchase the Vostro.

However, if you’re in search of a much higher quality laptop, I would recommend a Lenovo Thinkpad.

im an apple user!
youre 16? how much do u know about macs?
are you into games and stuffs?
do u know that 90% of all games and applications are not mac-compatible?

but dont fret
it comes with a bootcamp assistant which allows you to run windows (you will provide for it)
and the remote is free which is worthless in any ways.
its also best to upgrade the ram to 4GB

and if u have a friend whom works at a school, let him/her buy it… apple will give u a $100 off the price

Well you cant put Windows Media Player, Windows version in your Mac. But yes there are workarounds. Simply visit the Microsoft website and download Windows Media Player for Mac and you will get it. You just need to search it there. So the WMP for Mac will definately work on your Mac system. And as for ripping DVDs, I am sure Mac comes with an in-built software, but you may still want to check it from their official website here : http://www.apple.com

yes, because it doesn’t matter who owns it, there is still service warranty on it, but i would think twice about purchasing stolen merchandise just incase the serial numbers are tracked, you could wind up in deep crap =-O so just consider getting one cheap from somewhere else
